Deleting Your Account and Data
Last updated 24 August 2026
You can destroy everything Mason33 holds about you, yourself, at any time, without asking anyone and without giving a reason. This page explains how, and exactly what is deleted.
The fastest way: do it in the app
Mason33 has a screen called Leaving. It is not buried, and it does not try to talk you out of it.
- Open Mason33.
- Go to Leaving.
- Optionally choose Take your Record first, to export everything you have written so that you keep it after you go.
- Choose Erase everything, and confirm twice.
That is the whole process. It happens immediately, it needs no approval from us, and there is no waiting period.
Deleting one thing rather than everything
You do not have to erase the whole record to remove something from it. A single Reckoning can be deleted on its own, and nothing else is affected — your account, your standing and every other entry stay exactly as they were.
- Open Mason33 and tap Everything you have written on the day's screen.
- Tap the Reckoning you want to remove, and choose Tap to rewrite.
- Clear the text completely and save.
The entry is deleted at that point — locally, and in the cloud copy if you are signed in. There is no waiting period and no approval needed. What is kept is everything you did not clear: the other Reckonings, your Proofs, the days you have kept and the degree you stand in.
If you have already uninstalled the app
Mason33 is deliberately anonymous. It never collects your name, your email address or your phone number, which means we have no way to look you up. Your record is identified only by the opaque sign-in identifier issued when you signed in with Google or Apple, and nobody at Mason33 can match that to a person.
So the reliable route is to let the app identify you, once:
- Reinstall Mason33.
- Sign in with the same Google or Apple account you used before. You will land on your own record.
- Go to Leaving and choose Erase everything.
If you cannot do this, or you would rather not reinstall anything, write to mason33light@gmail.com and we will help you get it done. Be aware that we will not be able to identify your record from an email alone — that is a consequence of collecting nothing about you, and it is the trade the app makes on purpose.
If you never signed in at all, there is nothing on any server of ours to delete. Everything was held on your phone.
One copy we do not control
Android backs up app data automatically unless you have turned that off. It is your phone's own feature, not ours: the copy goes to your Google Drive, under your account, and Mason33 can neither read it nor delete it. We are telling you because it means uninstalling may not be the last word — reinstalling later can restore what the app held.
To remove it, turn off backup for Mason33 in your phone's settings (Settings → Google → Backup), or delete the app's backup data from your Google Drive under the backups section. On iOS the equivalent is iCloud backup, in Settings → your name → iCloud.
What gets deleted
| Data | On erasing |
|---|---|
| Your practice record — degree, day, days kept | Deleted |
| Your Evening Reckonings | Deleted |
| Your Proofs | Deleted |
| Your alias | Deleted |
| Your reminder hour | Deleted |
| Your cloud document | Deleted |
| Your sign-in account | Deleted — see the note below |
| Everything stored on the device | Deleted |
We retain nothing. There is no retention period, no thirty-day grace window, no backup copy kept for our convenience, and no anonymised remainder. We keep no analytics record of you either, because the app never collected any.
The one thing that can outlast an erasure is your phone's own backup, described above. If you erase everything and then reinstall, your device may restore what it last copied to your Google Drive or iCloud — not because we kept it, but because your phone did. If you want an erasure to be final, clear the app's backup in your device settings as well.
One case where deletion is partial, stated plainly
Removing the sign-in account itself occasionally fails, because identity providers require a recent sign-in before they will honour a deletion request. When that happens the app tells you so on the screen instead of reporting a clean success.
In that case your Record is still destroyed — on the device and in the cloud — but an empty sign-in credential may outlive it. It holds no practice data, because that data is already gone. You can remove the credential yourself:
- Google: Google Account → Security → Your connections to third-party apps and services → Mason33 → Remove access.
- Apple: Settings → your name → Sign in with Apple → Mason33 → Stop using Apple ID.
Signing in again afterwards starts you at the Threshold, with nothing carried over.
